Heyyy, Y/y’all! Let’s talk about Labels. Some find them helpful or even a requirement; others find them unnecessary and frustrating. Truth is, W/we all believe in O/our bones that W/we know the best way to describe U/us and that’s all that matters. If folks don’t get it, oh well. Noted and understood, F/fam. But let’s go shopping for your FAVORITE SNACK, shall W/we?
(If Y/you don’t eat snacks, hate them, etc…suspend that for a minute and focus on the logic, please. Thank Y/you.)
Let’s picture O/ourselves on the snack aisle. W/we see a big white package with the word “Snack” printed on it. W/we pick it up, squeeze it, shake it, maybe even sniff it. But W/we STILL can’t tell if it’s the one W/we like or not. Some of U/us would shrug and toss it in the cart anyway while others would put it back on the shelf.
There is also a package that says, “Delicious, Healthy, Savory, Juicy, Spicy, Sweet, Creamy, Different, Unique and Amazing” some will pick it up, squeeze it, shake it, smell it, simply toss it in the cart, or even just leave it on the shelf.
Then W/we see a package with a picture, logo and a brand name you are familiar with. Some of U/us will immediately toss it in the cart if it is what W/we wanted.
So…while labels may not be popular with E/everyone, sometimes they may help U/us by letting U/us know what might be on the inside of the package.
For those who don’t understand why Labels might be important, hope this helps. For those who think having 50 labels helps, keep in mind it may overwhelm others. And lastly, maybe, just maybe…a snack can just be a snack. Thanks for Y/your time.
