When it comes to begging both the verbal and the physical play an important role and one should decide what attributes interest them, and when and how they prefer it and express it to their partner.

Some Physical Signs Of Begging:

• Kneeling
• Getting into a specific/requested position 
• Facing the wall
• Lying on the floor
• Kissing the feet
• Lowered eyes
• Sad face (puppy face)
• Batting eyes 
• Crying

Some Verbal Signs Of Begging:

• Apologizing
• Crying
• Repetition of a selected word or phrase
• Admittance of wrong doing
• Asking for forgiveness
• Pleading for halt to activity

The reasons for using begging within a scene can vary widely but most generally incorporate the demonstration of control and power and some form of humiliation, whether it be to teach humility or to humiliate. 

Some reasons to use begging:

Role Play- Begging can be a great way to add drama and intensity to a scene. It can assist in the realism and help sustain a mindset between both a Top and bottom. Begging may be used in a wide variety of role play scenes like, victim/assailant, suspect/law enforcement agent, ageplay, etc.

Pleasure- This is not to say that the other reasons for begging aren’t pleasurable, but sometimes a Top may wish a bottom to beg just purely for their own enjoyment. The act of seeing one beg can be a huge turn on,  it may satisfy a Sadist side or help to reiterate a power exchange. A bottom may also derive great satisfaction from begging and can be a way to demonstrate devotion and submission. Pleading for relief or repeating phrases of adoration can be just a few ways begging is used for pleasure.

To Receive- Many Tops insist their bottoms beg to receive permission for an indulgence or to have permission to orgasm, move, touch or speak. It can be purely non-sexual and simply a reminder to the bottom about who is in control.

Punishment- Begging can be used in addition to a sexual component or in a strictly non-sexual manner for punishment. It can be incorporated in the process of a punishment or to make contrition for an infraction. Some use begging as a way to focus their submissive during punishment on why the punishment is being received. Ways to punish using begging may include: making a submissive beg for something she doesn’t like or for a continuation of a punishment. 

Begging is something that can be incorporated and practiced in so many ways and for so many purposes during a scene. The when, how and why’s of begging can be an intensely personal preference on the part of a Top or bottom and be both a verbal and physical experience.

This by no means is an end-all, be-all to begging, just a little insight on how begging might be used in a scene. It’s important to remember, because begging is based around so much personal preference, communication should be had on how one prefers to be begged or beg, when they like to be begged or beg and what they like to be begged or beg for.
